Moving from Buildium

Export your rental data from Buildium and bring it into NestBord's spreadsheet importer.

Buildium can export the data NestBord needs from its reports. The Rent Roll report is the single best starting point — one row per unit with tenant and lease details.

1. Export from Buildium

  1. Open Reports in Buildium and run the Rent Roll (all properties, current date).
  2. Export it as CSV or Excel. Excel files should be opened in Google Sheets or Excel and downloaded as CSV.
  3. Clean the sheet: remove title lines, per-property subtotal rows, and totals so you're left with one header row and one row per unit.

Tenant emails and phone numbers may live in a separate tenant/rental-owner export — paste them in as extra columns if you want tenant accounts created during the import.

2. Import into NestBord

  1. Settings → Import Data, then upload the CSV or paste the sheet.
  2. Confirm the mapping (Buildium's "Unit", "Tenant", "Rent", "Lease start/end" headers are recognized automatically).
  3. Review the preview — new vs existing properties, totals, skipped rows — and import.
  4. From the summary, send portal invites to the tenants you're ready to onboard.

What to keep in Buildium

Transaction history, files, and closed work orders don't migrate — export anything you need for your records before closing the account. NestBord starts you with current properties, units, tenants, and active leases; rent collection and reminders are live immediately.
